When I began filming, the goal was to work with my friend and producer Patrick Green to create fun and informative videos connected to Me & McGee Market. After over 100 episodes, we learned a lot. I became more comfortable in front of a camera; the first videos were cringeworthy, but as with anything improving is about repetition.

Without farmers, there wouldn’t be farmers’ markets. Without local farmers, breeds of livestock, heirloom produces, and our connections to agriculture would be diminished. In so many ways, flavor and nutrients are lost.

Our goal is to travel the state of Arkansas exploring local farms as we connect their goods with local Chefs to create delicious meals and markets to provide an outlet. Through creating awareness of invaluable trades, we can highlight a wide range of small businesses that might not otherwise be able to afford or have the expertise to promote.

Ron Rainey Ph.D. is with the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture has been an agricultural advocate and resource. Coincidentally we grew up in neighboring counties—Ron, Hattieville in Conway County, and myself Atkins in Pope County.  We met and hit it off. His passion for serving farmers and markets in strengthening the state was evident at the onset.

By partnering together, we can create educational and impactful content that helps consumers understand, farmers get exposure, and the opportunity to showcase local restaurants using locally grown produce, meats, and other products.

It is an honor to work with such amazing people.
